I know some of you guys use Podpress, what are your thoughts?
Personally I ditched WordPress and moved to Tumblr a while ago, and while I don't put my podcast through it (it's solely on Libsyn these days), I prefer Tumblr's ease of use and non-fussiness.
We use WordPress and PodPress, both have performed well thus far.
Haven't done a full upgrade on WP yet, probably need to.
Going to have to wait until they both play nicely together, obviously.
Useful information to have though.
I'll keep an eye out to see when harmony is restored.
Thanks!
I use Wordpress; I like it and the editing improvements are great but this thing over updates and plugins is long standing - see SpamKarma pages for a LONG and sad battle for help and eventual abandonment - and that's the most popular anti-spam WP plugin. I can totally sympathise as a podcaster with the 'free' problem - and I don't expect them to fix it quickly or pressure them about it, as I wouldn't a podcaster to podcast. It's free, be patient - or do it yourself!
I have had some annoyances with 2.5 and 2.6 - had to change my feed because 2.5 totally changed how the RSS feed works and my custom legacy PHP page broke (well it worked but showed no posts). So I've setup a .HTACCESS redirect and cross my fingers that the equally flakey podcatchers out there actually redirect properly - iTunes does, and so does Juice suprisingly - and posted about it, but I'm sure someone will complain in about a year when they've noticed that their podcasts aren't updating :-P
Also I have had words years ago with Matt via Dave Weiner about the whole multiple enclosures thing, where the automatic multiple enclosures was breaking aggregators and podcatchers. But now I run a plugin that means I can choose what gets included, so it works both ways. Sad that someone else had to fix something that was totally contrary to the whole RSS 2 standard!
I do wish, like podcasting, people would be reinbursed for their time.

Cheers Pieter,
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully get another date in the calender before Christmas for a few social drinks if you can make it along.
Thanks
