Hotrod Cadets - tartan goth pop!

Hotrod Cadets are a goth pop band from Scotland: Monday morning music for your Friday night heartache. We are:

Alastair: singing, guitar
Brian: drums, singing
Iain: bass, singing

Mark and the Tartan Podcast has given us loads of support over the last few years. Like him, we are big fans of DIY indie music, especially if it's from Scotland.

Our new album Something in the Engine is now available. Listen to three tracks here on Podcastmatters, or the whole album on our website www.hotrodcadets.com.

"Something in the Engine" is on its way!

Just a quick note to say that our new album, "Something in the Engine", is now available to order from our website www.hotrodcadets.com! Copies are already winging their way to Mark, Gordon, Gabor, Colin and others. Why not pop over to our website and have a listen. If you like the music, please tell us! Cheers Alastair

Does selling mean selling out?

A lot of the people I know who make music don't feel comfortable selling the music they make. Glasgow, Edinburgh and many other parts of Scotland have great live scenes, and there are loads of great Scottish bands around. But many of them feel that it's somehow mercenary or pushy or just plain rude to ask people to part with their cash. Or they feel that their pure artistic vision is tainted by bringing money into the picture. They feel that selling is selling out. Our new album… Continue

Hotrod Cadets are a DIY indie band. But why DIY?

So here we are, blogging on the fabby new Podcastmatters social network. I recently wrote on our website about the reasons we have gone the DIY route for our first album "Breaking Up", and our new "Something in the Engine". Here's an extract: Hotrod Cadets are a DIY band… Continue

Alastair

I have now added and Events facility on the site, why don't you post some of the dates for your tour. It's on the right hand column.

Wow - that new release slipped right under my radar until now ! Nice to see you again (though I have to admit to rarely visiting this site as I have so many other places to try and keep up to date with).

TFL has now long surpassed its inspiration 'the tartanpodcast' in longevity and as always, I'd be delighted to play some Hotrod Cadets (and, of course, order the album when I have the cash).

Cheers !

Hi Guys

Are you going to post a track or two or, start a group.

Also, keep Mark Hunter up to date for his Tartan Podcast.

Have fun!
